When not tinkering with the 3D printer or doing deep dives into the science of fidgeting, my day job is with a small, Cleveland-area nonprofit. This year, we were selected as one of the charities to receive free IT support through Cleveland GiveCamp – which got me to thinking about the ways *I* could give back.
With more than 70 talented IT professionals and nonprofit leaders onsite – solving some big, big problems – it was the perfect opportunity to encourage a little fidgeting.
We packed up about 50 fidgets and left them for GiveCamp participants near the beverages. It was exciting to see them disappear and to glimpse GiveCampers fidgeting during the weekend!

I’m looking forward to returning to GiveCamp 2025 as a volunteer to help keep the movement going – it was an incredible experience and so needed by small nonprofits like the one I work for!
